Freja had *sort* of been listening to the briefing. Honest, she knew the gist of it. Probably. It wasn't very interesting, in any case. Science stuff. Nothing she was likely to be of any assistance with. Something something comstar blah blah facility blurb blurb axis something bombing. She passed the time twirling a lock of hair around her finger; an activity that seemingly was drawing the majority of her attention.

Snorri feels his attention start to fade out as technobabble starts up. He sees that he's not the only one and tries to catch the girl's eye, sending a wink

Freja noticed the wink, eyes darting over briefly. There was no indication of any emotional response to the gesture, though, and she just resumed concentrating on her hair.

[James Hall]

"Umm..." James wasn't sure how to refer to her. Ms. Winters," he hoped that was right, "could your mapping tell us what industrial level we are dealing with?" James knew there was a way to figure out civilization's tech level by the heat they produce and other things, but wasn't sure how to phrase it.

[Dorgan Bruun]

Roughly as interested in the techy stuff as his fellow mech pilots, Bruun took the opportunity to take stock of the people he might have to trust to stay alive.

Smart girl. Rebel girl. Winky McGee. What a crew. I bet those simulator runs will be a trip...

She glanced at James. "We'll get satellite views once we reach orbit, but the general view is... not very advanced. My best guess is that there is limited industrial activity but we didn't pick up an satellite network, just debris."

James nodded and thinks. Well, that's good. We should have control of space. That should help. At least as long as no one else show up.

That brought a snort of laughter from the captain of the dropship, who hid it behind his hand and then attempted to compose himself by drinking his coffee.

"I see, I see...do we have any probes we can throw at them sir? Mining seems mundane but..." Her eyes flick to the scientists present, "maybe they read the same things our employers have."

Andrea took another sip of her coffee and glances at the vocal new arrival. She responded to the impromptu French with her own, as it was unlikely many in the room spoke the language so to most it was just pleasant sounding gibberish. To those who understood such things...it was a pretty mundane greeting and an inquire if Colette was perhaps from the Federated Suns.

"Mais Oui...oh... I should use anglish." The chuckled.

Briefly drawn from the ongoing....briefing, Andrea looks back the chef, "I see, then we have that in common." She gives her a polite smile, "Kestrel...but I have spent a lot of time on the capital world."

"I have been here and zere, mostly Woodstock though." she smiled at the memories of all her trips and friends she has made. "It is nice to meet a fellow amie."
