Inside the Loft (Day T-2, Evening, Aerospace hangar)
The doors of the Aerospace hangar hadn't opened in a long time, and by the time Alexei got them open again, he had worked up a light sweat. The damn power couplings had rusted open, so it had taken a bit of elbow grease and profanity to get them latched.
As the metal opened with a groan of protest, he stepped inside, immediately sneezing. His footsteps kicked up small clouds of dust, and it occurred to him that he hadn't changed the filters in the vents of this room in years.
Hmm...
Meandering through the dark hangar, seemingly by memory, he walked down the length of a dark, crescent shape barely visible in the unlit room, humming as he went.
In the darkness, his feet found a metal ladder, and up he went, vanishing from view. Now there was only a cavernous darkness beyond the doors, in which a massive shadowed form lurked a few meters in from the door, and the air echoed with the eerie sound of his humming.
