Storage? (Day 4 EM, Storage)

Thomas returned to storage, intending to take a bit more time to poke around. Not that it would likely do him much good.

Still it had looked like there may be some interesting odds and ends here.

Re: Storage? (Day 4 EM, Storage)

The storage rooms were split into 16 main compartments, with auxiliary ones above and below in certain areas.

1-8 North and 1-8 South. The question was where he wanted to look - he could go over one with a thorough search, or two with a cursory one.

Re: Storage? (Day 4 EM, Storage)

Thomas decided to do a cursory search of North storage seven to start. The unused stuff was likely as not to be in the back. At least that was his thinking.

Re: Storage? (Day 4 EM, Storage)

As he passed toward seven, it became clear that 1-2 and 7-8 contained most of the commonly used items - the access ports at each end allowing for easy access.

The older cargo was more likely to live between 3-6.

The first one on the list would be five then, older stuff was interesting after all.

The hold was not as cold as it normally was, without the vacuum of space to freeze the contents, but it was still and largely ignored.

If he wanted to search here, he certainly could.

And he would stepping inside and giving it a look around. The contents here were likely from a time before the mercenary company owned the drop ship. At least that's what he thought.

Still if he found anything interesting he would need to chat with the major about it.

Re: Storage? (Day 4 EM, Storage)

Technically, the ship belonged to Alexei - they had just contracted his services for the duration of the journey - but the hold didn't have any way to say as much.

His search turned up spare parts, mostly, but there were also some truly ancient crates that appeared to have either jammed or been sealed, a long time ago. They weren't labelled, making it hard to identify them, but there were three of them, likely ancient.

Re: Storage? (Day 4 EM, Storage)

Thomas pulled them out, trying to figure how exactly they might be opened. He could always take them to Alexis later to see what it was he wanted to do with them.

Re: Storage? (Day 4 EM, Storage)

They weren't exactly small, but with some work and a few bruised shins, it was possible to drag them out.

The latches looked like they'd rusted shut, so it would either be a crowbar or some oil, and they'd open up. From the weight, one had to be holding something that was at least partly metal, and another felt surprisingly light. The third was noisy, like it was filled with ceramic tiles, banging off one another.
