EM4 - Briefing Room - Crunching Numbers

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"Well it comes down to how much can we lift off the planet with us, and whether or not this additional force ends up being a real threat"

[Lucretzia Winters]

"Oh they're a threat. But they're just a taste of what comes if we find something really valuable."

A soft sigh. "No way to keep a secret that big - and the moment we get back, some great house will tear it away... unless we find some way to avoid it. You see... my problem has gone from worrying this expedition would find nothing... to worrying about how we'll survive finding everything we already have, and there seem to be even bigger finds on the way."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"I apologize for being so efficient?"

[Lucretzia Winters]

"Oh, don't."

She laughed.

"Only... if you had any of those breakthroughs you seem prone to that relate to us all surviving the release of this information... I wouldn't mind hearing them."

Glancing at the data, she whistled. "If that's a real SLDF fortress... that's a treasure find for the record books, however short lived our appreciation of it may be."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"Keep in mind they already ordered its self destruct to activate, as soon as we step into it, it may go off and save us all the trouble of worrying about anything"

[Lucretzia Winters]

"Yes, but it seems that, over some 2 or more centuries, it has yet to blow."

She shrugged. "The risk is there, yet..."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"I am just imagining us bringing up the computer systems and then they execute the last command in progress"

[Lucretzia Winters]

"We will have to be careful then."

She shrugged. "Perhaps I am being too greedy, grasping too much. Yet with such a prize in front of me I can't simply leave it be."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"I am just as interested in going forth with these finds as you are, director, your not alone here"

[Lucretzia Winters]

"Heh, we're all fools then."

Giving Reinhardt a slight smile, she added, "You do it for the passion of discovery, I because I see a route to a freedom I have always coveted. Ironic, perhaps, that such different ambitions could overlap."
