It didn't even take one day for people to already start slipping on the company name.

I'm not sure if I'm proud or disappointed.

The Tech was not the only one down in the mechbay. Standing within sight but engrossed in her own world was Andrea, she was scrolling through a screen near the unpowered Commando. While several had been assigned mechs, this Commando was her's and her family's. She was not going to just let any random person work on the machine without a healthy amount of scrutiny.

Stepping back from the screen Andrea looked up, the Fortunate Son's logo had been painted over the location of her old unit's crest. But her coat of arms remained, if now in more subdued colors, opposite the mercenary company logo.

James smiles and nods approvingly. "Yes, Mata. That is correct." He turns to Marik. "I... I understand you come from somewhere with different beliefs. I don't mean to insult them, but please, just Technician James. I am here for you." After a moment, "Though any help you want to give would be appreciated."

Marik smiled. As he did, it was if Summer's warm embrace radiated off of his face.

"Oh, I knew there wasn't an insult - I was mostly trying to explain my understanding. I was warned that space had many cultures, so I must have seemed strange - my apologies. I would be honoured to help you out, Just Technician James."

I hope Just Technician James likes his new name.

The tracked APC, obviously incapable of emotion, still somehow looked wounded by the accusation. The twin SRM tubes on the turret certainly seemed dangerous enough...

The Hover APC, on the other hand, devoid of weapons, had no excuses for itself.

Stepping out of the hovercraft, Samuel frowned.

"This is it. It should be here."

Pushing ahead through the rain he quickly began to outpace the pair, ducking around uneven ground with the ease of familarity.

Then he stopped.

There was a large, charred ruin. Perhaps it was once a farmstead.

There were no barns. No family. No tractors or livestock. No Mother, Father, or siblings. Where all of that had once been was only a burnt and charred ruin with no signs of life.

Samuel didn't move or say anything for a long moment, and then he muttered, "This is my fault. I complained about home. Told them all about my family and friends. Where we lived... what we did..."

He fell to his knees.

"I did this."

I had feelings. I don't have them anymore.

James directs the other men to the computers and tells them what to do. As he hits the final button, he mutters to himself, "enhanced imaging."
