Gaming Development (D4 EE Bunks)

[Felicity]

"There's really a lot to it, yea? I'm having trouble following." She was having a lot of trouble. Still, it was interesting and she was enjoying the distraction. She smiled as Theodore showed off the other two characters. "I like the art too. Is it a big game? Mind if I watch you play a bit more?"

[Theodore Beker]

"No problem," he closed the menu and returned to the map. He seemed to be in some sort of overgrown stone ruin. Suddenly there was a loud squawk and a bright red bird (maybe an eagle?) swooped out of a tree at Figario causing a screen transition to the battle screen.

[Felicity]

"What was that? What just happened?" Felicity was a little slow on the uptake. "Did you do that?" She clearly had not played games like this before. Maybe she didn't play any games? She was bending her body for a better look without falling back on top of the mechtech.

"It's a bird? Is the little wizard boy okay?" She asks with some anxiety in her voice.

[Theodore Beker]

"A Phoenix just decided I needed to get wrecked," he laughed, "You can get more comfortable if you want." He hit pause and adjusted himself so she could do so, "And then we will find out."

[Felicity]

"A phoenix? Ooo, so that's a phoenix. Like the big legendary bird. Right."

She glanced away and to the bunk. Her body was starting to get a bit stiff from bending so she could see.

"Find out if you can beat it?" She asks, clambering onto the bed and laying down on her front snugly beside Theodore. She placed her chin atop her forearms so she could watch. "Turn it into a fried chicken Theodore."

[Theodore Beker]

"Yeah, that is a phoenix," he laughed as he unpaused. On the screen a huge bright red bird with yellow head feathers like a crown and long flamelike peacock tailfeathers it beat its wings and little fireballs flew out hitting each party member and creating a brief pillar of flame. Yasmine stepped forward and all three glowed green, Margoth held their sword in front of them and a swirl of purple surrounded them, while Figario fired off a lightning blast at it, "I think this is the boss."

[Felicity]

"Eehm, maybe you could narrate what's happening? I don't know what the green and purple pixels mean." Felicity points out. "But I can tell you zapped it, si?"

"Good luck if it's the boss. They're harder, yea?"

[Theodore Beker]

He laughed, "Right I can do that and they are. I cast a team heal and Margoth fortified themselves." The phoenix cried out and a gout of flames hit Margoth. "Alright! That buff paid off fast. Figario casts Haste on Margoth to increase their attack rate, Yasmine is casting Enlighten on Figario, which boosts his magic power, and Margoth is using Darkslash!" A string of glows go off followed by the warrior stepping forward and launching a black and purple streaked sword slash at the phoenix. The phoenix answers by beating its wings again and setting the team on fire. "More healing, another Darkslash, since that worked nicely, and Figario is casting Electroclasm!" Lightning bolts fill the screen, "Yeah, that worked nicely. Another darkslash... Oouch! He just blasted Figario. Big heal on him..."

[Felicity]

She soon fell into the rhythm of his explanation. She was lucky that Theodore was being the announcer, or she'd have struggled to follow what was happening. Like this it was a breeze. She was beginning to understand bits of it.

"So, the numbers are damage values?" Felicity read some of the numbers on the screen. "And the others are health and other bits?" She points to the status bars of the characters. "You're hitting the boss a lot." Adding this cheerfully, Felicity was watching with her full attention with her cat ears forward listening to the music. Her tail was merrily swaying left and right. Sometimes it even tapped Theodore gently as it made big swings. It didn't seem Felicity noticed as her attention was locked on the flashing noteputer screen.

[Theodore Beker]

He grinned at the seemingly engrossed catgirl. "Yeah, right on all counts. He has a pretty big health bar," he pointed to a red bar, "He is only down a third of it and I have been giving him the business. I think I need a fresh wave of-" He stopped as the phoenix went to half health off of another Electroclasm and spread its wings causing the image to waver followed by a strong of fiery explosions, "Ouch! Figario is down and Yasmine got Stunned..."
