Bruun saw the danger and maneuvered skillfully, but Andrea was still going to get a side shot before he was fully recovered.

When Bruun does get his first salvo off, it's clearly a mess.

Andrea's return fire was not, spearing Bruun with multiple shots in the side. She smirks and turns on the comms, "Running a little slow old man."

Bruun lets a wave of curses subside before he responds with false bravo: "Yeah, I thought I'd give you the first hit on my new rig for free, seeing as you're new at this."

The Firefly jumps out of its awkward position, landing near the corner of a small building and taking a better shot at Andrea's mech this time. It's not amazing, especially given the Ostsol's armor, but it puts a smile on Bruun's face that maybe he'll get the hang of this new mech.

"Oh you can hit after all." Andrea responds and steps back, firing again with her large lasers. "Need me to lecture you on tactics some time?"

She smirked in her cockpit and began to move again, hoping to throw off Bruun's next shot.

Acting like a veteran, Bruun uses the building for cover against the heavy lasers, though that building won't be holding up to any more hits for him.

"Well, you do seem to have a lot of practice in the classroom..." he suggests. Bruun tries to steady a shot with his LRM, but only a single missile clips a shoulder of the Ostsol, evoking the sense of spring rain on a boulder.

This is not good progress, he admits to himself. Let's see what else you can do, new mech. Ahh, you need a name!

"The best classroom and I served in the Cadet Cadre...so plenty of field exercises." Andrea circled around again, coming in fast she unloaded all her lasers into Bruun. She grinned even as a wave of sweltering air smashed into her body. Switching off the comms, she checks her heat. "Ah...looks like I will need to cool off. Vous devenez chaud facile, mon nouvel ami."

She darts off again, moving to cover to cool for a moment.

The Firefly isn't terribly nimble, but manages to step away from the worst of Andrea's rush attack. Still, the damage reads are starting to add up for Bruun, without much of anything to show for it.

Bruun fires the jump jets, giving chase and trying to get close enough to unleash his mech's many lasers. By the time he gets the drop on the heavier mech among the buildings, heat is accumulating for the firefly. He'll get one volley before the heavier mech can make him pay.

Andrea's mech is consumed in the Firefly's attack....but as the shots died down, the Ostsol was still standing. "Good hit grandpa. But...its over." Her Ostol closes the distance with surprising speed and delivered a harsh stomp onto the Firefly's ankle. Another wave of super-heated air blasted her as she sent all four forward lasers into him.

The simulator ended and she relaxed.

With some heavy shaking and blasts of heat in the simulator, Bruun gets an unpleasantly strong sense of what it's like when your mech's head and torso explode. Without preamble, he unstraps from the thing and bursts out of the simulator for some fresh air.

"Gahahhhh..." Bruun groans, searching the room for where he'd left his towel and water. He had not planned to need them so immediately. He moves quickly to the water bottle once spotted.

Andrea climbed out, hair matted with sweat, and smiled. "Enjoy the sauna Lance Leader?" She set her sabre down and took a seat. "Not very nimble on your feet."

Crossing her arms and legs, she sat watching Bruun with a smirk. She hid it but there was a certain curiosity to how the older mechwarrior would take his defeat.
