"The ship only flies between two points, both in the middle of the ocean, I assumed, since we found the ship at the Starport that one was there. Using that as a reference I did a shift on the other point and it lines up very close to where we already suspected the SLDF base was on the southern continent."

[James Hall]

"Ah. I see." James wondered about something. "So, what was the purpose of these bases? Were they some sort of research center?" It would make sense with this more civilian craft serving as a kind of ferry between the other bases.

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"What we know for sure is that when Amaris forces tried to take this planet from the Star League, the SLDF forces ordered the southern base destroyed, but the self destruct sequence never went off. They then ordered a shuttle to fly to the base to finish the failed destruction, but the crew of the shuttle were murdered before they could take off. If they went to that much trouble to try to scuttle the base to keep it out of Amaris hands, then there may be something worth while there for us." He looks up, "Ahh here is the Vehicle bay"

"May the Great Father be with him." James said solemnly. He then looked to the bays.

In this case, there wasn't a great deal there. A very fancy and ancient looking car, fairly massive, honestly, a pair of small forklifts, and some crates labeled "Gift Shop."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"you want to check those Crates Tech and I will take a look at the boat over there?" He doesn't really wait for an answer and walks over to investigate the car in detail giving it a once over and seeing if it is in working order.

Well, since the doctor was on his way, James let him go and went to check the crates.

The crates were full of... gift shop merch.

Perhaps a memory of a happier time, yet none of them had been alive to see it.

It had, in large, fancy letters, "I spied THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE with the Human Edge Observatory!" on a variety of things, including T-shirts, mugs, noteputer cases, and coasters.

As for Reinhardt, he found that the two forklifts were probably in need of some work, and weren't particularly notable, but the car... It was the pinnacle of lostec, the most glorious and luxurious family vehicle ever invented. Twenty tons of family friendly, heavily armored, nuclear engine powered luxury sedan goodness. With a family defense missile launcher, concealed large laser, and armor plating, it was the future!

Or maybe the past.

It was a Rotunda.

whistles low, "Well you look at that, Tech I think we have just hit the jackpot"

James went over to see what he had found. Unless Dr. Reinhardt was a tourist mug collector.

Though James could use a coffee mug. It just really was good stuff.
