Amid all the activity between the redoubt and the Calico, a small group had volunteered to keep up the daily patrol requirement -- while accomplishing a couple of bonus activities.

As the APC they commandeered for "patrol" duty rumbles out into the highlands, Bruun keeps an eye out for an inviting trail into the woods or some other sign of good game to pursue. Of course, having some distracting companionship along isn't making that easy.

[Felicity]

Feline were well known as hunting animals. They could track prey via sight, sound and scent. This also extended to Felicity. As an added bonus she also had the intelligence to spot tracks and other signs of prey movements.

Felicity ducked her head back down into the APC. She'd been watching the surroundings from up an open top hatch, her ears up, looking out for any sign of something worth hunting. Deer. Boar. Poultry. Anything tasty.

"Stop here Bruun. That trail in the woods at our 10 isn't man made."

Felicity closed the hatch before hopping back into the APC. "We might need to be quiet."

Colette on the way looked at her knives set a made sure that they are sharp. She had a cleaver quite big for chopping big chunks of meat. She put them in her bag once they arrived at the Elysian fields. She looked at the guys ready to work.

Thomas nodded his own eyes open for anything out of the ordinary. He wasn't exactly the quietest person in his Evo gear with his rifle, but he coukd manage.

Bruun was clearly more focused on driving than spotting any tasty creature leads. He was at least attentive enough to agree that Fee had a good lead.

After a while, Felicity caught the trail of a herd of some sort of wild bovine - split hooved tracks winding away into the foothills, likely toward some sort of watering hole.

[Felicity]

She waved her left hand in the air to usher the group of hunters over to her. In her right she was holding onto her assault rifle. It was perhaps a little overkill. Then again, what if they came across a bear?

"A lot of bigger animals went through this way... they're heading somewhere... up..." She points ahead into the foothills. "Likely a herd of something. Eehm... wild cattle maybe?"

Hopping up, she starts moving that way. Quietly.

As they leave the APC behind, Bruun is carrying a borrowed basic rifle. Over his new uniform coat he's wearing his usual dual holster gun belt.

"Moreno, you're probably the better shot, so stay close to Fee," he suggests. "I'll bring up the rear with Colette."

Colette nodded. She had her knife close and her pistol ready.

[Felicity]

"I'll take point."

It helped that she could be fairly quiet. felicity moved ahead to track the bovine herd. However, she would soon have to rely on the others for assistance.
