"Our previous phone callers were wearing patches that said "331" on them. I think they are asking us if the Star League is still standing"

Colette shrugged. She wasn't going to be very useful. "So what now?”

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"We can do a physical search, take the equipment apart, check the database for other research outposts, or try to send a message back, maybe even try to set up a rendezvous location, Anyone have a preference, Director do you think any of those seem to be a good idea? "

[Aloysius Jones]

"Searching for secrets is part of what I do, but there may be nothing to find." Aly said. "On the other hand, we know the equipment is here and we know we've made contact. Those, at least are solid leads. Are they transmitting with similar equipment?"

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"I assume so, or else they have some sort of mobile HPG on a jumpship somewhere, which is similar...but...different, more compact and efficient"

[Jan Novak]

"I'm interested in the kinds of algorithms they use to trace and translate such signals. If we know the models, we could derive the inputs from the output data already gathered and potentially recreate the capacity on a different device elsewhere." Jan was still grumpy from the earlier failure.

[Aloysius Jones]

"If that data is more valuable, then that is what we should try to get." Aly said. "It's that or try to get what we can from the equipment here."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"I think really are choices are Professor Novak trying to figure out how the whole thing works, or sending a message back, honestly not sure what we would say in the message back, unless it was to set up a rendezvous, and I am not sure how...intelligent that is" he looks toward the Winters sisters.

The main issue is that the facility offered a transmit/receive infrastructure that would be hard, if not impossible, to replicate anywhere else, given the designers had turned the entire valley into a focusing dish for their signals.

That said, they could reasonably attempt to:

Send another message
Gather information about the construction of the facility
Look for secret stashes of loot or the like
