Calm Before the Storm (Day 16 EE, diner, open)

[Felicity]

"Yea, definitely. Still, the Calico's looked after us more than any other transport I've been on. The pancakes Colette does for example..." Felicity brought her fingers to her lips and kissed them as she flicked them away. "Mwah! Super tasty, si?"

[Theodore Beker]

"Oh, I'd have been here a dozen times before if it was average spacer food. A good cook does spacer food a million favours," he chuckled, "One of which being that they probably buy a decent selection of food. My first operation after my tour with the guard we basically had to live off powdered mashed potatoes that most likely were bought in bulk on a fire sale of some sort. I still can't eat the things."

[Felicity]

"...Yuck." Her hand moved to rub his arm supportively. "That's terrible. Yea, we are really lucky. Still, you're right. Better to have a good meal out sometimes, si?" She flashes him another smile. "And a milkshake!"

[Theodore Beker]

"Yeah! Focus on the stuff we haven't had for a month or so," he grinned.

"So what do you think of your new mech?"

[Felicity]

"I like it so far, but I wish I knew how to work the ECM system more than 'off' and 'on'. I won't really know until I use it more... maybe after these pirates land." Theodore had managed to bring about a heavier topic. She glanced at him to check whether that was actually his intention.

[Theodore Beker]

He gave her a quick look as she brought up the pirates and proceeded to focus talk on the mech itself. "ECM systems are nice. More useful against other advanced tech. It messes up advanced missile targeting systems but won't stop a hard lock mainly. There are other systems that it'll mess with but they are generally rarer than that even by Star League standards. It will mess with comms though."

[Felicity]

"Messing with comms could be really useful. Mess up their cohesion and cooperation. That's potentially pretty big, right?" Felicity ponders aloud.

[Theodore Beker]

"If you are quick about it you could deny them calling for reinforcements," he winked at her, "Might be hard to do to a Locust since it could outrun you but it would give you some time to gun them down."

[Felicity]

"Only in open terrain, but yea. It's a nice ability to have. Thanks for pointing that out and explaining it Theodore. I'll give it some more thought. Eehm, aside from that, I like her. She has great firepower. The double heat sinks are amazing, but the ERPPC really eats into their cooling capacity. I still wonder if one of those snubs might be better. Maybe use the weight saving to add another heat sink." She smiled at him. "Or a medium laser. What do you think?"

[Theodore Beker]

"I mean if I am tearing it apart anyways? And likely had to replace the ER with something else anyways..." he crossed his arms, "Snub nose really shrinks your engagement range... I mean I don't think it is maximally optimized. It plus another heat sink would work for how you use it though. Maybe another tonne of armour instead?"
