The storerooms were, sadly, flooded, meaning anything inside those was likely gone, as were most of the crew quarters.
There was, at least, still some crash netting tangled about the hangar, and crates had been caught in that, so once that was sorted they'd know what was in it.
The mechs looked like they could probably be brought online - they hadn't lost hull integrity so their internals should be well preserved... if loaded with extremely stale fuel - luckily fusion reactants didn't really 'go bad' so much as 'slightly stabilize' which wasn't really an issue.
The trick would be getting past the pilot command code locks - that would probably require a full system reset, and that would either need the engineer's main console for the hangar, or an extensive layover at the Calico being re-programmed.
Unless, of course, they hadn't actually been paired with a pilot before the crash.
It would be a relatively simple, if tedious, matter to load up the mechs and take them back. As for the engines... those were too big to easily move, but Jan was feeling drawn to them all the same. There was something familiar about the configuration... the feeling of working on a starship drive.
